I'm Thinking When You Smile For Your Blue Skies For Those Times That You Felt Alive

Man, I have been totally and utterly wiped out for the past week. Any time I get to myself, when I'm not hanging out with people/doing homework/at school is precious. I usually catch up on anime or manga, or write something new, and then it's off to the next thing. Once I start to get more into the rhythm of things, I'll try to comment more on the f-list, but no promises.

BUT. This weekend has more than made up for it. My new ATM card came in, so I no loner have the money issue to be concerned about (well, it exists, but now it's a lot less pressing), I went out and bought a used DS, a case, the Code Geass DS game and a Hayate no Gotoku Game for $160- the same it would have cost me for just a new DS (I bought it as a birthday/christmas present to me). And then I got dragged into Kichioji, which is the nearest kind of big city area near the dorm, where I subsequently found myself spending an additional $100 on a really kickass jacket, a shirt/vest combination, and a long sleeved shirt/undershirt combination.

On second that... maybe the money issue is still a problem. *sweatdrop* I swear I'm eating only onigiri or bread for lunch this week.

But the Code Geass game is seriously awesome. I mean, they use Pizza Hut boxes as treasure chests, for God's sake!

Japan is amazing for an American ego, I've found. Seriously- all the guys in the dorm are absolutely loving the attention we get when we go anywhere. The stares (especially female ones) are a pretty good way of increasing self confidence.

And on that note... I've been working on that whole "changing myself" thing. It's been going a lot better lately- I've been able to break bad habits and start new ones.

The habit I broke that I'm most proud of was overthinking things. Usually I overthink the majority of my actions and hesitate too much. I casually flirted with my Japanese monitor student (kind of like my tour guide/help desk girl)- and I NEVER casually flirt. Ever.

I'm not trying to become Casanova or anything like that, just that usually I'm way too hesitant to do things like that, cause a lot of the time I feel like I'd be sending the wrong message or something. I just kind of went on instinct, to do something I wouldn't normally do.

Plus, I felt really bad about cutting our earlier conversation short and wanted to show that I didn't hate her or anything.

Nevermind. I still overthink things too much. *sweatdrop*

Almost everything in the Fall 2008 anime lineup has been awesome. To Aru Majutsu no Index is probably my far and away favorite because it's just so cool, and then Tora Dora, Tales of the Abyss, Kannagi, Kurogane no Linebarrels, and Yozakura Quartet are the others I am definitely keeping up with this season. I'm on the fence about Hyakko (the second episode wasn't as fun for some reason), Chaos;Head, and Shikabanehime Aka.

Lastly, here's some pictures from my birthday last week and the stuff I bought in Akihabara.

The cake my family friends got for me. It was very delicious, even though I'm pretty sure I ate at least 5 pounds of food before that.

My presento! (sorry, my English is degrading into Engrish sometimes... *grins*)

This is what was inside. It's a really beautiful teacup, handcrafted and such. I'm really afraid I'm going to break it if I use it so I've been keeping it in the box.

And lastly, my new pride and joy. My DS (with case and adapter, it was $98), the Code Geass game, and the Hayate no Gotoku game.

The Hayate no Gotoku game was almost half the cost of the Code Geass game, despite coming with a cd and that cool looking plastic case.

I LOVE To Aru Majutsu no Index! And I cannot wait for Kaori to appear!

I've watched the first episodes of most of the new series and I'm pretty happy with them for the most part. Though I think I'm enjoying Hyakko far more than you, ^^;

Glad to see you're enjoying your time over in Japan, :D

Seriously, To Aru Majutsu no index is just so good. It can only get better.

You probably are! I've only found a few I'm not too pleased with, but overall, the Fall 2008 lineup is the best in a while for me.

Thanks!

Oh, wow, that cake really looks delicious! *snags* And that cup is really pretty, too. I'm a sucker for handmade things.

And it's good to hear you're doing fine (well, minus the spending thing, but who doesn't have problems with that :D) and seducing girls around, haha. Thinking too much is never too good. That's why I always rely on my instincts which are almost never wrong.

Wow, anime list ftw. I need to find some time to watch some. XD

Agreed on both counts. I couldn't even finish the cake, I was so damn full...

I'm not seducing them! *is scandalized* I merely like talking with them a bit more than normal.

I don't have tons of time, but they're a great way to relax for me and something to look forward to after a long day at school.
